About us
A Garment Buying House Based in Dhaka
Fourteen years matching woven apparel orders to the Bangladeshi factories best equipped to produce them — and staying accountable through sampling, production, inspection and shipment.
Select Fashion Ltd is a garment buying house based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, specialising in woven apparel — shirts, trousers, denim, outerwear and workwear — for fashion brands, retailers and importers in the United States and European Union. Founded in 2011, we manage the full production cycle on our clients’ behalf: factory selection, sampling, price negotiation, inline quality control, final inspection and shipment.
Who we are
The people who actually stand on the factory floor
We are a team of 34 people based in Mirpur DOHS, Dhaka, including 12 merchandisers and 9 full-time quality inspectors. Our merchandising team has an average of 11 years in woven production; our QC staff are on factory floors, not in an office, for most of every working week.
We are registered with the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau under licence number EPB/DHK/24187 and hold BGMEA membership number BGMEA-4192.
Our story
Started because one buyer could not get a straight answer
Select Fashion Ltd began in 2011 with a single workwear programme for a German distributor who had spent six months getting inconsistent quotes from three Dhaka factories and no clear answer on why the prices differed. Our founder had spent the previous nine years as a merchandiser inside one of those factories, and knew exactly where the gaps were.
Workwear stayed the core of the business for the first four years. Woven shirting followed, then trousers, then denim as we brought units with in-house washing into the network. Outerwear came last, because it is the category where matching the right factory matters most and we would not take it on until we had units we trusted with it.
What has changed since is the inspection side. We began with one inspector; we now employ nine, and inline QC at 20% production is standard on every order rather than something a buyer has to request and pay extra for.
Know the difference
What a Buying House Actually Does
A buying house manages garment production on a buyer’s behalf without owning the factory. That distinction matters, and many first-time importers do not know the difference between the three options available to them.
Factory
Manufactures in-house. Best price on a single product type, but limited to what its own lines can produce — and its sales team works for the factory, not for you.
Agent
Introduces you to factories and takes a commission. Usually stops at introduction — sampling, QC and problem-solving remain yours to manage.
Buying house — what we are
Selects and supervises multiple factories, and stays accountable through sampling, production, inspection and shipment. You get a range of specialised factories with a single point of responsibility, and you do not need staff in Bangladesh.

No. We are a buying house, not a manufacturer. We select and supervise independent factories, which lets us match each order to the production unit best equipped for it rather than forcing every product through one set of lines.
We work on a commission of 5–7% of FOB order value, agreed in writing before an order is placed and shown as a separate line in every costing we send you. We do not take undisclosed rebates from factories.
